Doctrine - Water

Module 1 Lesson 3: Mysteries of the Scriptures – Water

Now that we’ve already dealt with the history of the OAC, warts and all without the typical sugar coating, let’s delve into the doctrine of “spiritual” interpretation. Here we will look at how the word “water” is interpreted “spiritually”.

The original document was updated in Afrikaans on May 10th, 2011.

Original Afrikaans:

English translation:
“…To begin with lesson 3 we’ll look at what’s written in GENESIS 2 the first three verses.
Genesis 2:1-3 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. VERSE 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
VERSE 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Let us pause here for a moment. Here we saw in VERSE 2, God took seven days to complete his works and not six days as is generally accepted and told…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
On the seventh day God created a day of rest, blessed it and sanctified it. The week was thus completed. In comparison to what He accomplished in the first six days, the seventh day was a definite day of rest.

Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Jesus is also Lord of the sabbath and the sabbath was made for MAN, not MAN for the sabbath (Matthew 12:8, Mark 2:27-28 and Luke 6:5). You’ll notice that Jesus didn’t say the weekly sabbath was made for EARTH.

Original Afrikaans (continued):

English translation:
“…GENESIS 2:4-5 “These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, VERSE 5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground”.
Question: What became now of the people that God created on the 6th day?
GENESIS 1:27 “So God created man in his own image”.
Explanation: We already said, that according to JOHN 4:24 God is a Spirit, i.e., God created the spiritual man on the sixth day. Here in GENENIS 2 we thus find a fuller description, of how God went to work with the creation of the spiritual man that would later receive the name of Adam…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
1 Corinthians 15:45-47 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

Because of Adam’s disobedience he brought death into this world and would return back to dust, just like all the rest of us. That’s what became of the people that God created on the sixth day.

Genesis 3:17-19 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall bring it forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

The context of John 4:24 is that God can be worshipped anywhere, not only in Jerusalem (John 4:20-26). Geography can’t confine Him. You’ll notice that Spirit doesn’t mean we must read everything as a parable or an allegory. Being “spiritually minded” doesn’t mean you must read Scripture out of context.

God isn’t only a Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:17).

  •          He is a consuming fire (Deuteronomy 4:24, Hebrews 12:29)
  •          He is a Word (John 1:1, John 1:14, 1 John 5:7, Revelation 19:13)
  •          He is Light (Psalms 36:9, Isaiah 60:19-20, John 1:4-5, John 1:4-9, John 8:12, John 9:5, John 12:35-36, James 1:17, 1 John 1:5-7, Revelation 21:23-25, Revelation 22:5)
  •          He is Love (2 Corinthians 13:11-12, 1 John 4:7-16)
  •          He is the Creator of everything that is visible and invisible, temporary and eternal, physical and spiritual (John 1:3, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 3:9, Colossians 1:16-17)
  •          He is the first and the last (Revelation 1:8, Revelation 1:11, Revelation 1:17, Revelation 21:6, Revelation 22:13)

He is so much more than people seem to realize.

Image needs to be understood in the sense of being representitives of God. In much the same way that ambassadors represent their country, we should represent Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20-21). This means that God made man to depict Him, by displaying the image of God by his actions. Wind is invisible but when the trees move we can see the wind by the action of the trees. This is what is meant when we put on the new man that becomes renewed in knowledge after the image of Christ (Colossians 3:9-11).

Even though we grow in knowledge after the image of God, we also carry the image of Adam (1 Corinthians 15:46-49). The first man Adam was of the earth and we are his physical descendants. Science has proven that the substance of our flesh, sinews and bones consists of the very same elements as the soil (Psalms 139:14). God shared His breath with Adam and Adam became a living soul. His life originated in a different way from his body (Ecclesiastes 12:7, John 20:22). Then Adam was disobedient and eventually returned to EARTH dust outside of the garden of Eden. Of EARTH dust we are made and till EARTH dust we will return.

Only Jesus is the image of the invisible God (2 Corinthians 4:3-4, Colossians 1:15-16 and Hebrews 1:3-4). He was there in the beginning as the Word that created everything (John 1:1-3). He is the firstborn of every creature because He was there in the beginning before any creatures were created. Jesus is the Lord from heaven with the life giving (quickening) spirit.

Only through Christ can we truly bear the image of God (Romans 8:29-30 and 2 Corinthians 3:18).

The new life in Christ must be the lifestyle that we live each and every day (Ephesians 4:17-32).

The Genesis account doesn’t need to be twisted out of context to understand a spiritual lifestyle in Christ.

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…GENESIS 2:6 Maar 'n mis het opgetrek uit die aarde en die hele aardbodem bevogtig. Wat beteken hierdie mis wat uit die aarde opgetrek het? Die aarde is die verstand van die mens (soos ons geleer het in Lesing 1), maar wat is hierdie mis? Mis belemmer ‘n mens se uitsig en is ook ‘n vorm van water. Mis is dus vrae wat nou by my opkom, onduidelikhede, verdure verwarring.

English translation:
“…GENESIS 2:6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. What does it mean there went up a mist from the earth? The earth is the understanding of man (as we learnt in Lesson 1), but what is this mist? Mist obscures a man’s view and is also a form of water. Mist is thus questions that arise in me, unclear, further confusion. You try by yourself, to clarify the mysteries of the scriptures using the method we learned here and now you get completely confused, by certain aspects that only now come to the fore and you can’t see your way forward. Doubts can creep in. When your questions become an explanation then the obscurities, confusion and doubt will clear up. The answers have now watered the whole face of the ground, i.e. the answers were a form of water…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
Something else could be obscuring your vision (Malachi 2:3). There was no need for rain because there was enough water for the whole face of the ground (Genesis 2:5-6). It only started raining when Noah was six hundred years old (Genesis 7:4-6).

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…Vraag: Hoe kan ‘n mens dit verstaan?
In GENESIS 1:2 lees ons “En die Gees van God het gesweef op die waters. MEERVOUD!
GENESIS. 1:7 God het toe die uitspansel gemaak en die waters wat onder die uitspansel is, geskei van die waters wat bo die uitspansel is.
Vraag: Is daar dan nou meer as een soort water? Dit wil so lyk!

English translation:
“…Question: How can a person understand this?
In GENESIS 1:2 we read “And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. PLURAL!
GENESIS 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
Question: Is there now more than one kind of water? It seems like it!
GENESIS 1:9 AND God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear. VERSE 10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he sea.
Now the CORE QUESTION first:
What were these waters that covered my understanding?…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
The oceans, rivers, lakes, dams and clouds were all created by God. Notice all the plurals in my sentence? The miracle of Creation cannot be reasoned away with human (fleshly) accomplishments and interpretations (Psalms 33:6-9, Romans 1:20-23).

Water also has three seperate forms (plural):

  •          Gas – steam, mist, clouds etc.
  •          Liquid – water, rivers, dams, lakes, oceans etc.
  •          Solid – ice, icebergs, hail etc.
Water with different forms

Don’t become vain in your imaginations.

Original Afrikaans (continued):
(LUK: 8)…”

English translation:
“…1. PROVERBS 18:4 The words of a man’s mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.
2. JOHN 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
3. JOHN 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
ANALYSIS: This proves to us, that water, is words, words of the gospel of God. The gospel has thus made my understanding receptive as we already saw in the parable of the Sower. (LUK: 8)…”

Say it, don't spray it!

To the author and readers of the original document:
Please go read Luke 8:11 again, the seed is the word of God, there’s no mention of water.

Wise speech on the other hand is like an exhaustless stream of benefit (Proverbs 10:11, Proverbs 13:14, Proverbs 16:22, Proverbs 20:5, Isaiah 59:21, Matthew 12:34).

The water that Jesus is referring to is the salvation that He obtained for us, it’s the water that will enable us to live forever (Isaiah 12:3, Revelation 21:6, Revelation 22:1, Revelation 22:17), He quenches the deepest thirst that man has for God and salvation (Psalms 63:1, Isaiah 41:17-18, Isaiah 55:1, Amos 8:11-13).

Just like a river that has visible signs of life around it, likewise will the person from which this water will flow also bring signs of life to those around them. Those that receive the Spirit will show signs of the new life that will flow from them. The water is the Spirit which is received by those who believe on Jesus (Isaiah 12:3, Isaiah 44:3, Isaiah 58:11, Ezekiel 47:1-12, John 7:37-39, Acts 2:1-41, Colossians 3:16). Salvation is also for those who are illiterate, physically deaf and physically blind.

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…Ek kan nou sê dat die antwoorde (water - evangelie) my as aardse mens insig (lig en
verstaanbaarheid) gegee het in die verborgenhede van God.
Vraag: Wat Beteken waters dan, meervoud.
Antwoord: Dit is dan verskillende evangelies, verskillende instansies. Dit het my so

English translation:
“…I can now say that the answers (water – gospel) gave me as earthy man insight (light and understanding) into the mysteries of God.
Question: What does waters mean then, plural.
Answer: These are then various gospels, various institutions. It made me so disorientated and confused that I decided, this is God’s mysteries that are only known to Him. The earth (my understanding) was completely covered with these human opinions, (waters) that the Spirit of God couldn’t find a resting place. It was therefore necessary that God had to divide the waters so that I could discern between EARTHLY and the HEAVENLY, or the NATURAL and SPIRITUAL…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
In Genesis 1:2 the earth was still without form and void, uninhabited and man hadn’t been made yet. There is only ONE gospel, the glad tidings, the doctrine and message of Christ – singular. There is no other gospel and no such thing as various gospels, the gospel is unique only to Christ.

If all the ground on earth was levelled out, we would all be under water more than a kilometre deep.

Without form and void

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…GEVOLGTREKKING: Dit het ons dus ‘n kykie gegee na die skeppingswerk van God. Hoe, God die aardse mens omskep na die hemelse mens.…”

English translation:
“…CONCLUSION: This then gave us a glimpse at the work of creation of God. How, God converts the earthly man into the heavenly man…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
This then gave us a glimpse at how the Bible can be twisted out of context by reading single verses out of context and then adding own interpretations by ignoring all the other relevant Scriptures.

          Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…Dit bring ons by die einde van Lesing 3 en aan die einde van die eerste Module…”

English translation:
“…This brings us to the end of Lesson 3 and the end of the first Module...”

Thus ends the third attempt by the author of the original document to insult your intelligence.

Summary:
In a spiritual sense, the water that Jesus gives us will spring up into everlasting life (John 4:14). When Jesus spoke of the rivers of living water, He was referring to the Holy Ghost (John 7:37-39). The river of water of life proceeds from the throne of God and of the Lamb (Revelation 22:1).

Doctrine - Light

Module 1 Lesson 2: Mysteries of the Scriptures – Light

Now that we’ve already dealt with the history of the OAC, warts and all without the typical sugar coating, let’s delve into the doctrine of “spiritual” interpretation. Here we will look at how the word “light” is interpreted “spiritually”.

Creation or natural coincidence?

The original document was updated in Afrikaans on May 10th, 2011.

Original Afrikaans:
“…Kom ons soek nou antwoorde op die vraag in lesing 1, hoekom God volgens GENESIS 1 mense maak terwyl daar volgens SPREUKE 8 alreeds mense bestaan het? Wat is dan die verskil tussen die mense?…”

English translation:
“…Come let us seek the answers to the question in lesson 1, why God according to GENESIS 1 made people whereas according to PROVERBS 8 people already existed? What is the difference between these people?…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
It’s only in your own mind that you think Proverbs 8 says people already existed before the earth was created.

Let us recap:
Proverbs 8:31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

You falsely added “even before the earth was made” to this verse yourself. Be careful about adding to Scripture (Deuteronomy 4:2, Deuteronomy 12:32, Proverbs 30:5-6, Revelation 22:18-19)!

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…1 KORINTHIERS 15:44. 'n Natuurlike liggaam word gesaai, 'n geestelike liggaam word opgewek.

English translation:
“…1 Corinthians 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body, VERSE 47 shows “The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven”.
ANALYSIS: In VERSE 40 “There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another” we see that the glory of the celestial bodies is different to the glory of the terrestrial bodies, because according to VERSE 44 a natural body is sown and a spiritual body is raised. To clarify this statement we see that the earthy man existed first and that he only had earthy interests and wasn’t aware of the glory of God.
Because in John 4:24 we are told:
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. The second man was thus created by God when He converted the earthy people into HEAVENLY people so that the heavenly people could be aware of His glory. Here I want to pause to show you how God converted the earthy man into a heavenly man…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
It’s really not that complicated, the Bible states it quite simply.

The first MAN was Adam:
1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

The first MAN Adam was formed from the dust of the ground (earthy):
Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

The first MAN Adam would return to the ground after his disobedience:
Genesis 3:17-19 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

MAN today carries the same physical (earthy) resemblance (image) of the first MAN Adam because we are his physical descendants:
1 Corinthians 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

When we die, our physical bodies will return to dust – EARTHY dust!

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…In GENESIS 1:2 sê God die aarde (die mens) was woes en leeg en in duisternis.
ONTLEDING. Dit is die toestand waarin die AARDSE mens was…”

English translation:
“…In GENESIS 1:2 God said the earth (the man) was without form and void and in darkness.
ANALYSIS: This is the condition wherein the EARTHY man was…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
No, go read that whole chapter again very carefully. The EARTH had to be created first so that the first man Adam could be formed out of the dust of the ground – EARTHY dust.

Original Afrikaans (continued):
 “…1.  WOES. Beteken deurmekaar…”

English translation:
“…1.   BLUSTEROUS. Means disorganized…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
Let us recap:
The Old Testament wasn’t originally written in Afrikaans, but in Hebrew.

Strong’s definition for the Hebrew word tôhû which is used where the Afrikaans word woes (“without form” in the KJV) is used:
From an unused root meaning to lie waste; a desolation (of surface), that is, desert; figuratively a worthless thing; adverbially in vain: - confusion, empty place, without form, nothing, (thing of) nought, vain, vanity, waste, wilderness.

If you don’t understand English, then for the benefit of our Afrikaans readers:
Met ander woorde soos ‘n woestyn, onbewoonbaar want daar was niks.
1. Onbewoon en onbewerk,
2. Wild, ru, onbeskaaf,
3. Buitensporig, abnormaal baie,
4. Losbandig,
5. Ontstuimig

A dictionary and a concordance will really prove useful before jumping to false conclusions, especially when reading Scripture not written in the original language.

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…Die aardse mens se lewe was gevul met aardse dinge en dit het God nie behaag nie, want Hy wil in Gees en waarbeid aanbid word…”

English translation:
“…The earthy man’s life was filled with earthly things and it didn’t please God, because He wants to be worshipped in Spirit and truth…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
That is a blatant LIE!

After He created man and everything that he had made, it was very good.
Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…2.  LEEG. Beteken daar was niks…”

English translation:
“…2.   EMPTY. Means there was nothing…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
Let us recap:
The Old Testament wasn’t originally written in Afrikaans, but in Hebrew.

Strong’s definition for the Hebrew word bôhû which is used where the Afrikaans word leeg (“void” in the KJV) is used:
From an unused root (meaning to be empty); a vacuity, that is, (superficially) an undistinguishable ruin: - emptiness, void.

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…Die AARDSE mens se Lewe was leeg ten opsigte van die heerIikheid van God want hy (die aardse mens) het die heerlikheid van God nie geken nie…”

English translation:
“…The EARTHY man’s Life was empty with respect to the glory of God because he (the earthy man) didn’t know the glory of God…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
How could his life have been empty if God blessed them and placed them in the garden of Eden (paradise)? They had direct access to the tree of life and commanded to eat from it!

Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

If the EARTH is a MAN according to your logic, why would God tell MAN to multiply and replenish (fill up) the EARTH? Do you read it as MAN that must fill up the MAN?

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…ROMEINE 8:5-9, sê die wat vleeslik is bedink vleeslike dinge maar die wat geestelik is geestelike dinge, omdat wat die vlees bedink vyandskap teen God is, want dit onderwerp hom nie aan die wet van God nie…”

English translation:
“…ROMANS 8:5-9, says they that are fleshly are fleshly minded but they that are spiritual, spiritual things, because a carnal mind is enmity against God, because it is not subject to the law of God…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
Allow me to contribute more verses to this discussion.

Being spiritually minded does not mean reading the Bible out of context or “naturally”:
Galatians 5:22-24 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Being spiritually minded means you seek the will of God above your own fleshly lusts (carnal mindedness) and desires:
Colossians 3:1-3 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…3. DUISTERNIS.
DUISTERNIS beteken dus ONVERSTAANBAARHEID, of ONKUNDE …”

English translation:
“…3. DARKNESS. Here it is crucial that we first pause for a moment at GENESIS 1:3 Here God said: Let there be light. And God divided the light from the darkness. Only in GENESIS 1:14 on the fourth day did God make the SUN, MOON and STARS. These are responsible for light on the earth, but there was already light on the first day.
This proves that the light that God made on the first day was NOT the same light that we receive from the SUN, MOON and STARS.
Come let us see what explanations we can get in the Bible for this.
- EPHESIANS 1:18 “..eyes of your understanding being enlightened”
- EPHESIANS 5:13 “..for whatsoever doth make manifest is light”
- PSALMS 119:130. “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
EXPLANATION. Manifest means to reveal or explain something so that it can be understood. i.e. if a matter is explained to me so that I can understand it, then I say; “I SEE”. That means I see the light with regards to that specific matter.
LIGHT thus means COMPREHENSIBILITY.
I almost believe it’s unnecessary to elaborate further on what darkness is, because it’s just the opposite of what light is. DARKNESS thus means INCOMPREHENSIBILITY, or IGNORANCE…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
In verses 3-5 light (singular) is divided from the darkness on the first day. The word used here for light in Hebrew is 'ôr, which means illumination.

In verses 14-19 lights (plural) are placed in the firmament to give light (singular - 'ôr) upon the earth. The word used here for light in Hebrew is mâ'ôr, which means a luminous body.

Maybe you’ll understand it better with a little birthday “parable”:
Daddy is at his child’s birthday party and there’s a cake with little candles on it. At some point everyone gathers around the cake and mommy realizes she doesn’t have something to light the candles with. Daddy happens to carry a lighter in his pocket, so when mommy says “anybody got a light?”, daddy happily takes the lighter out of his pocket. With one flick of his bic he is able to light all the candles before returning the lighter to his pocket. One light, many candles, get the picture?

Lights lit with one light can also provide light

God created the sun, moon and stars on the fourth day and “ordained” them as “light bearers” to divide the day from night, and for seasons, and for days, and years, and to give light upon the EARTH.

Genesis 1:14-15 And God said, let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

The proof is visible to us every single day:

  •          In a 24 hour period we have day and we have night
  •          In a 365 day period we have summer, autumn, winter and spring
  •          The cycle of all these seasons is called a year and it takes 365 days for the EARTH to complete one orbit around the sun

All these periods and cycles are unique to the EARTH.

Do you know why God created the sun, moon and stars only on the fourth day? Because there is no other God besides our heavenly Father. Neither the sun nor the moon nor the stars are gods because they are only creations of God. They are mere objects that serve a purpose in God’s creation. The celestial bodies are there to serve a purpose, they’re not there to be served.

God is the source of all creation, even light, He doesn’t need the sun because God is also light.

1 John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

The light of God cannot be confined in a box because light takes on different forms. Light is varied in the visible and invisible spectrums. Think of all the shades and colours for instance that can be seen by the naked eye. A rainbow is a colourful example. Then you get the invisible spectrum such as infrared light and ultraviolet light which we can’t see with the naked eye. What you alluded to in your example is a form of “enlightenment”. God is much more than mere “comprehensibility”. About 2000 years ago something a lot more significant than mere “comprehensibilty” took place, Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled when Jesus Christ was born in flesh, He is the light of the world in more ways than one (Matthew 17:2, Luke 9:29, John 8:12, John 9:5, Acts 9:3-5, Acts 22:6-8 and Acts 26:13-15). When you read the verses in brackets and in context of the chapters they were written in, you will hopefully notice that it wasn’t the sun that was so bright, but The SON!

His word is also a lamp unto my feet, a light unto my path (Psalms 119:105).

There is an awesome future promise with regards to light. The sun and moon will have served their purpose as “light bearers” and “time keepers” and their services will no longer be required.

Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Revelation 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

According to Revelation it’s the glory of God, and the Lamb instead of “comprehensibility” that shines when there’s no need for the sun or the moon. Read also what happened to Moses after he was with God on mount Sinai for forty days and forty nights (Exodus 34:29-35). Besides the allegorical sense, there is also the Divine sense which should not be ignored. You can’t pigeon-hole Almighty God into a one-dimensional comprehension with arguments of the imagination.

“…SPREUKE 4:18 - 19.
VRAAG. Waarom aand en toe more, en nie liewer MORE EN AAND nie?
ANTWOORD.

English translation:
“…PROVERBS 4:18-19. But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. VERSE 19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
Now we come back to the earthly man wherein God wants to place a spiritual mindset. God first creates light in him, understanding in terms of the glory of God. This takes place when someone explains the Bible to me.
1 CORINTHIANS 15:49 proves the statement above: And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. VERSE 50, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. After God according to GENESIS 1:4 divided the LIGHT from DARKNESS it was evening and morning the first day.
QUESTION. Why evening and then morning, and not rather MORNING AND EVENING?
ANSWER. The moon shines in the evening and it has a soft light while the sun has a very bright light. If someone comes out of darkness directly into the bright light of the sun he will be blinded…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
Allow me to refresh your memory. The sun, moon and stars were only created on the fourth day. Even before the sun, moon and stars were created it was evening and morning on the first day (Genesis 1:5), it was evening and morning on the second day (Genesis 1:8) and it was evening and morning on the third day (Genesis 1:13). There was darkness upon the face of the deep (Genesis 1:2) before God said “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3), that’s why the subsequent days also begin with evening and morning. It has absolutely nothing to do with the sun and the moon. Their only purpose is to divide the day from night, for seasons, days, years and to give light upon the EARTH (Genesis 1:14-15).

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…ONTLEDING. Die aardse mens was in duisternis ten opsigte van die heerlikheid van God en die maan se lig moes eers vir hom skyn…”

English translation:
“…ANALYSIS. The earthly man was in darkness in terms of the glory of God and the moon’s light first had to shine for him…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
The only earthy man in Genesis was Adam and he was only created on day six (Genesis 1:27-31), two days after the moon was created. He was NOT in darkness in terms of the glory of God either, he had direct access to the tree of life in the garden of Eden (Genesis 2:9) which is the paradise of God (Revelation 2:7). We should not be obsessed with the moon.

Original Afrikaans (continued):

English translation:
“…This is the clarification of the Bible from GENESIS 1 to REVELATION the last chapter, while the sun of righteousness, Christ, will only rise later for come. It will admonish him and rebuke him with regards to his godly duties. (The promises that he made when he was taken up etc.) If a man is admonished before he even understands the Scriptures then he will be according to Isaiah 59:10 “We grope like the blind” because he won’t know what these things are about…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
Please go read the whole chapter of Isaiah 59. Sin makes a person sick, it impacts your whole being. The people acknowledged that their relationship with God was only superficial, and that their relationships with their neighbours was characterized by unrighteousness. The author thinks he understands the Scriptures but it appears as if he is the one groping around like a blind person!

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…In HANDELINGE 9 kan ons dit ook sien waar Saulus tot bekering gekom het
In 2 KORINTHIERS 4:4 sien ons dat die verligting van die evangelie van die heerlikheid van Christus is die beeld van God…”

English translation:
“…In ACTS 9 we can see where Saul came to repentance
In 2 CORINTHIANS 4:4 we see that the enlightenment of the gospel of the glory of Christ is the image of God…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
Unbelievers are spiritually blinded by satan to remain in their unbelief. The Holy Spirit places the understanding of the glory of Christ in a believers heart. He opens the spiritual eyes to see and believe. Read the whole chapter as well as John 12:37-50, Acts 26:12-18, Ephesians 2:1-3, Colossians 1:13-23 and Hebrews 1:1-4.

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…ONTLEDING. Die verligting beteken weereens die verstaanbaarheid van die evangelie van Christus wat die beeld van God is. God is volgens 1 JOHANNES1:4, LIG, JOHANNES 1:4, ‘n WOORD. In GENESIS 1 sien ons God na Sy beeld, m.a.w. God omskep die aardse mens tot ‘n hemelse mens deur die aardse mens ‘n verstaanbare geestelike denkwyse to gee…”

English translation:
“…ANALYSIS. The enlightenment means once again the comprehensibility of the gospel of Christ which is the image of God. God is according to 1 JOHN 1:4, LIGHT, JOHN 1:4, a WORD. In GENESIS 1 we see God in His image, i.e. God converts the earthly man to a heavenly man by giving the earthly man an understandable spiritual mind set…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
How often do you read the Bible? Did you ever check the verses you’re quoting? Please go and read those verses again and see if they correspond with your statements.

Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…As ons die hele hoofstuk van GENESIS 1 lees, sien ons dat God Sy skepping voltooi deur alles op die aarde te maak plus die mense op die sesde dag, maar in
GENESIS 2:5 lees ons “Was daar nog geen struike in die veld op die aarde nie, en daar was nog geen mens om die grond te bewerk nie.
Nou wat het van die plante en die mens geword wat God op die 3de en 6de dag gemaak het?…”

English translation:
“…If we read the whole chapter of GENESIS 1, we see that God completed His creation by making everything on earth plus the people on the sixth day, but in GENESIS 2:5 we read “And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
Now what became of the plants and the man that God made on the 3rd and 6th day?…”

To the author and readers of the original document:
Genesis 1 is the summary and Genesis 2 from verse 4 onwards is the detail of how Adam and Eve were created on the sixth day. Context is very important if you want to understand these verses. The original Scripture wasn’t written in chapters and verses, the first three verses of Genesis 2 should actually be at the end of Genesis 1. The context of Genesis 2:5 is about Eden, not the whole earth.

“Plant” is a very broad term and your argument uses it very loosely. When we start to read the verses more carefully we’ll see that there are specific details which your question seems to have overlooked.

Day three:
Genesis 1:11-13 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day.

  •          Grass (deshe' in Hebrew)
  •          Herb yielding seed (‛eśeb zâra‛ zera‛ in Hebrew)
  •          Fruit tree (‛êts perı̂y in Hebrew)
Fruit trees and grass

Day six:
Genesis 2:5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

  •          Plant of the field (śı̂yach śâdeh in Hebrew)
  •          Herb of the field (‛eśeb śâdeh in Hebrew)

If you start a garden or an orchard, is the garden or orchard already established because there are already plants growing there? If a farmer buys a field and decides to grow wheat, does he just leave the field as it is and hope to reap wheat simply because there is already grass growing wild in his field? Plants of the field would not have been there before Adam. Read a little further then you’ll see that the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden where he put the man whom he had formed (Genesis 2:8).

Herbs of the field

We read about the herb of the field a little later:
Genesis 3:18-19 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

          Original Afrikaans (continued):
“…Dit bring ons by die einde van Lesing 2 van Module 1…”

English translation:
“…This brings us to the end of Lesson 2 of Module 1...”

Thus ends the second attempt by the author of the original document to insult your intelligence.

Summary:
In a spiritual sense, there is only one true light and His name is Jesus (John 8:12, John 9:4-5), as His children we are called to be children of light (John 12:35-36, Ephesians 5:8-11, 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5, 1 John 2:9-11). Unfortunately not all light leads to the truth, we need to be wary of satan who also transforms himself into an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:13-15, Galatians 1:6-10, Revelation 12:7-9).
